Your blog's RSS feed
Share your new posts automatically with feed readers, newsletters and social media tools.
An RSS feed is a list of your newest posts in a standard format that other tools can read. PageShift makes it for you; there's nothing to switch on.
People and tools use it to:
- follow your blog in a feed reader such as Feedly;
- send new posts to your newsletter or social media automatically (many email and automation services can "post from RSS");
- let other sites show your latest headlines.
Your feed addresses
| Feed | Address |
|---|---|
| All posts | /feed/, for example www.yourbusiness.com/feed/ |
| One category | /blog/category/ + the category's slug + /feed/, for example /blog/category/roof-care/feed/ |
Copy the address from your browser and paste it into the tool that asks for an "RSS feed URL". Browsers and feed readers can also find the main feed by themselves from your blog's address.
What's in the feed
- the 20 newest published posts, newest first;
- for each post: the title, link, date, category, the Excerpt as a summary, and the full text, starting with the short answer and key takeaways;
- the featured image, when the post has one;
- a "Read the full article on …" link at the end of each post.
Drafts, scheduled posts (until their time comes) and posts in the Trash are never in the feed.
Things to check
- Give every post an Excerpt. Many tools show only this summary, with the title and picture.
- Set a featured image on each post, so tools that post to social media have a picture.
- Open your feed address once to check it works. A category that doesn't exist answers "Feed not found".
