Take payments on forms
Ask for a payment or a deposit right after someone sends one of your forms, without a shop.
A form can lead straight to a payment. After the visitor sends it, they land on a payment page in your site's design, choose one of your payment methods and pay. The lead is then marked Won with the amount. You don't need a shop for this.
For example, a roofing company can ask for a $199 inspection fee when someone picks "Roof inspection" on the quote form, while "Roof replacement" still just sends the request.
Set it up
You need at least one payment method switched on (see Set up payment methods).
- Go to Store → Store → Payments and scroll to Payments for forms. Each of your forms has a box.
- In the form's box, tick Ask for a payment after "…" (1).
- Choose what The amount is (2):
- The price of the chosen option: a price for each answer of a dropdown or choice question. Choose the Option question, then type a price next to each answer (4). Leave a price empty for answers without a payment: those visitors go to your thank-you page as usual.
- A fixed amount: type it in Fixed amount.
- The calculated total (Total field): for forms that work out a total.
- To ask for part of the amount, change Deposit (% of the amount) (3), for example 50. 100 means the full amount.
- Click Save.
The status line (5) tells you if it works: "Ready: after this form, visitors go to the payment page (2 payment methods)." If something is missing, it says what, for example "Not ready: enter the fixed amount." or "Not ready: switch on at least one payment method above". While it's not ready, visitors simply go to the form's usual next page.
What the visitor sees
- They send the form as usual.
- The payment page shows what they're paying for (for example "Free quote request · Roof inspection"), the reference and the amount.
- Under Choose how to pay, they pick a method and click Continue to payment →.
- They pay online, or see your instructions for your own methods, just like after a shop order.
What you get
- An order in Store → Orders with the badge Form payment. Mark it Paid when the money arrives, as for any order.
- When it's paid, the lead moves to Won in your leads, with the amount as its value and a note such as "Paid $199.00 with GCash".
Payments only, without a shop
If your website sells nothing in a shop and only takes form payments, go to Store → Store → Settings, untick Shop and save. The sidebar and title then say Payments, the shop page is gone, and only the Orders, Reports, Payments and Settings tabs remain.
