Choose your fonts

Pick the fonts for body text and headings, add fonts from the free library or upload your own brand font.

Your site uses one font for body text and one for headings (they can be the same). You choose them in Design → Design Settings, in the Fonts card.

Choose the fonts you use

  1. Go to Design → Design Settings and scroll to Fonts.
  2. Choose the font for Body text (1): paragraphs, lists and buttons.
  3. Choose the font for Headings (2).
  4. Small labels (like "/ SERVICES") are the small lines above headings. Leave them Same as body text, or pick another font.
  5. Click Save design.
The Fonts card

The lists show the fonts in your library. To get more, click Get more fonts ↓ (3); it takes you to the Font library further down.

The font library

The Font library card gives you over 1,500 free, open-licensed fonts. A font you add is downloaded once and served from your own website, so your visitors' browsers never contact another server.

The Font library

You can add fonts in three ways:

  1. Ready-made pairings (1): a heading font and a body font that look good together, such as Modern (Archivo + Inter), Editorial (Playfair Display + Source Sans 3) or Friendly (Poppins + Nunito Sans). Click Use and the pairing is live right away.
  2. Add a popular font (2): pick a font in the list and click Add font.
  3. Search all 1,500+ open fonts (3): type a name, for example "Nunito", click Search, then add a font from the results.

Fonts you add appear in the table at the bottom, with a Preview ("The quick brown fox jumps") and what they're Used for: Body text, Headings, or Not in use. In each row:

  • click Use for body text or Use for headings to put the font to work right away;
  • click Remove to take an unused font out of your library. A font in use can't be removed.

Upload your own font

If your brand has its own font, and your license allows using it on a website:

  1. Under Upload your own font (4), click to choose the file. You can choose one file, several files, or a .zip with the whole family (Regular, Bold, Italic…).
  2. Type the Font name, for example "Brand Sans".
  3. Click Upload font. PageShift detects the weights and italics from the file names.
  4. Click Use for body text or Use for headings in its row.

Use .woff2 files if you have them (they're the smallest), otherwise .woff, .ttf or .otf, under 3 MB each.

Message What it means
No font files were found. Upload .woff2, .woff, .ttf or .otf files, or a .zip containing them.
Those files aren't fonts we can use. The files aren't real font files, or they're over 3 MB.
That isn't a font file we can use. The file chosen under Upload your brand font isn't a font. The design isn't saved.
