PageShift Help

See who changed what (Activity)

Look up every save, delete, publish, setting change and sign-in in the admin, filter by person or date, and export the list.

System → Activity is the admin's diary. Every save, delete, publish and setting change is listed with who did it and when, plus sign-ins. It's the first place to look when something changed and nobody remembers doing it. Only Administrators can open it.

The Activity screen

Read the list

Each line shows:

  • When it happened (point at the time to see the exact second);
  • Who did it, with the internet address (IP) they used. System means PageShift did it by itself, for example a scheduled task;
  • the Area, such as Pages, Settings or Sign-in;
  • What happened, with a link to the page, post or setting when there is one.

Lines marked Warning are actions that failed or were refused, such as a wrong password.

Find something

  1. Choose a person in Everyone (1) to see only what they did.
  2. Choose an area in All areas (2), for example Settings.
  3. Choose Warnings only (3) to see failed sign-ins and refused actions.
  4. Type a word in Search activity (4), for example the name of a page.
  5. Pick a date range with From and to (5).
  6. Click Filter. Click Clear to see everything again.

Export the list

Click Export CSV (6) to download the list as a spreadsheet file. It uses the filters you chose, so you can export, for example, one person's changes in March. Send it to support when they ask what happened.

How long activity is kept

At the bottom, under How long to keep activity:

  1. Type the number of days in Keep for (days). The default is 180 days; you can choose from 7 to 3,650.
  2. Click Save.

Older lines are deleted automatically.
