Set up payment methods
Offer bank transfer, GCash and other methods you confirm yourself, or connect PayPal, PayMongo or Stripe, and test them before you go live.
Buyers choose how to pay at checkout from the methods you switch on in Store → Store → Payments. There are two kinds:
- Your own methods (bank transfer, GCash, Maya, Wise, a personal PayPal link…): after ordering, the buyer sees your instructions, QR code and link. You mark the order paid when the money arrives.
- Online payment services (PayPal, PayMongo, Stripe): the buyer pays on the service's page and the order is marked paid automatically.
Only Administrators can set up payments.
Add your own method
- Under Add your own method, choose a template in Start from (1): GCash, Maya, Bank transfer, Wise, PayPal (personal, with a PayPal.me link) or Other payment method.
- Click Add method (2). A new card appears with the badge Off and ready-made instructions.
- Fill in the card (see below) and click Save.
- Tick Show this method at checkout (1).
- Check the Name buyers see and add a Short note at checkout if you like, for example "ACH or wire from any US bank".
- Write How to pay (2): your account details and what to put in the message. Type
{order}where the order number should go. Buyers see this after ordering and in their email. - For a QR code, click Choose (3) next to QR code image and pick the picture from Media.
- If you have a payment link (paypal.me, a Wise link), paste it in Payment link. Buyers get a Pay with … button.
- Keep Ask the buyer for their reference number after paying (4) ticked. Buyers can then type the transfer reference on their order page, and you get an email with it.
- Click Save (5). The badge says On.
Connect PayPal, PayMongo or Stripe
Click + PayPal (3 in the first screenshot), + PayMongo or + Stripe. Each adds a card in test mode:
| Service | What buyers can use | What you paste |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | PayPal balance and cards; monthly and yearly plans renew | Client ID (2) and Secret from developer.paypal.com → Apps & Credentials. Needs a PayPal Business account to go live |
| PayMongo ("Card, GCash or Maya") | Cards, GCash, Maya, GrabPay and QR Ph (tick them under Offer (4)); charged in pesos at the daily rate | Public key and Secret key |
| Stripe ("Card (Stripe)") | Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; monthly and yearly plans renew | Publishable key and Secret key from dashboard.stripe.com → Developers → API keys |
- Leave Mode on Sandbox (testing) (PayPal, 1) or Test (PayMongo, 3; Stripe, 5).
- Paste the test keys from the service.
- Tick Show this method at checkout and click Save.
Saving checks the keys with the service. A message such as "Stripe accepted the keys (test)." confirms it, and notifications from the service are set up for you. If you paste a live key while the mode is Test (or the other way round), PageShift refuses to save and tells you.
After saving, the secret key shows only as "saved". Leave the field empty to keep it, or paste a new one.
Test before you go live
While a service is in test mode:
- a yellow note at the top of the admin reminds you that buyers can't really pay yet;
- when you're signed in and open the checkout, a note "Test mode (only you see this)" tells you which method opens a test payment page. Visitors don't see it.
Place a test order with the service's test card or sandbox buyer account. The order should come back as Paid. When everything works, switch Mode to Live, paste the live keys and click Save.
Choose the order buyers see
Drag the cards by their title to change the order at checkout, then click Save order (4). Remove deletes a method; orders that used it keep their details.
Store details for receipts and invoices
Scroll down to Store details:
- Check the Business name (1). It's shown on PayPal and on receipts.
- Type your Business address and Tax ID (2), shown on invoices.
- Set the Invoice number prefix (3) (
INV-by default) and an Invoice footer. - Type the Support email (4). Buyers' replies and payment references go there.
- Click Save details (5).
