Authors and reviewers (People)
Keep one list of the people who write and check your blog posts, so each post can show "By" and "Reviewed by" with their job title.
System → Settings → People is the list of people who write or review your blog posts. Each post then chooses its author and reviewer from this list. Showing a real author and an expert reviewer helps readers, and search engines, trust your articles.
Only Administrators can change this list. Choosing the author on a post is explained in the Blog and content section.
Add a person
- Go to System → Settings → People.
- Type their Name (1), for example
Tom Becker. - Type their Job title (2), for example
Gutter and Siding Specialist. - Paste their LinkedIn or profile URL (3), if they have one.
- Tick Works for the business (4) for your own team. Leave it unticked for guest writers and outside reviewers.
- Click Add Person (5).
Now open a blog post and choose them in its Author and reviewer box.
What visitors see
When your blog post layout shows the author and reviewer, visitors see, for example, "By Dana Whitfield" and "Reviewed by Tom Becker, Gutter and Siding Specialist". The post's information for search engines names the same people, with their profile link.
The list
The table shows each person's Job title, Profile, whether they're on your Team, and how many posts they're the Author of and Reviewer of. Click a number to see those posts.
- To change someone, click their name (or Edit), change the details and click Update. Their posts show the change.
- To remove someone, point at their name and click Delete. PageShift tells you how many posts use them first. Posts they wrote then show your site as the author, and posts they reviewed show no reviewer.
